Delightful Joseph Arthur Vigneron pere arrives circa 1895
Michael Rabin was an avid collector of two things...model aircraft and french violin bows, indeed ten years ago I had the pleasure of selling two bows from his collection. His favourite bows were by Vigneron pere, two silver and two gold mounted, all of his recordings beyond childhood were made on these bows.
Rabin is not alone, many players enjoy the unique feel and sound of a Vigneron pere bow.
Here is the great master bow maker at his bench, a supremely gifted maker with his own unique concept of what a great bow should be.
Increasingly difficult to source here is a rare opportunity indeed, careful scrutiny of the photo below shows it has the most attractive figure the length of the bow.
It is probably the only one of its type and is highly collectable. There is very minor damage near the head and this is secured by some nylon binding. Complete with a Raffin certificate, weighing 59.9g this is a wonderful bow by one of the greatest makers,
