Bazin school circa. 1930

Here is a typical fine example of this fine french school of bow making circa 1930.

Made circa 1930 this is a tremendous bow made from very attractive figured pernambuco. A strong stick it weighs 58g and its point of balance is a very fine 26.7cms. It is mounted in Mailechordt and is a splendid representative of French bow making during this turbulent time. Given that the bow is representative of the Bazin school the bow was probably made in the town of Mirecourt.

The stick has sustained very slight damage near the lapping where a pernambuco tear has occurred, this is very superficial and of no concern, it is hardly noticeable but I need to point it out. This bow offers a great route into this collection as it can be part exchanged when buying higher up in the collection. A punchy attractive French bow from about a century ago.
