Eugene Sartory cello bow c. 1910
Here is a rare opportunity to own a Sartory cello bow from his best period around 1910, made from top class pernambuco, many cellists would delight in this bows creamy strong broad sound.
A colleague recently recorded Shostakovich’s second trio using her Sartory bow, it was interesting to note the sound credentials are the same whether it be a violin or cello bow, such is the mastery of this great maker.
It is totally sound in construction but as can be seen from photos some minor restoration would quickly make this bow look fabulous. The head is particularly beautiful.
