A superb Maire from between 1835-1845 in near mint original condition with no repairs or wear. Indeed when I first saw this bow the frog and button (mounted in maillechort) was black with dirt, underneath to my amazement was the best Maire frog and button I have ever seen.

From a playing point of view this bow is sublime and a real friend when you are under severe pressure. The rich, warm sound it produces is very seductive to the listener and it is a dream to play articulation wise. The stick is very beautiful with deep veins and constantly changing colours. A rare and beautiful bow in wonderful condition. This bow has been slightly lengthened under the lapping and is about the cleanest Maire available, one of the best examples in Europe
