Eugene Sartory circa 1905

Here is a superb best period Sartory with only slight cosmetic damage for sale, the pernambuco is top drawer as you would expect from this great maker, at this point at his zenith.

The frog and button are replicas made in our workshop and identical to the original that taken off some decades ago. The bow was sourced from a very famous violin dealer based in Paris. It was a bow he was going to restore at some point but never got round to it. There is a small lift behind the head hence the small area of binding. The stick is so dark it really is tricky to see the binding in normal use.

After a lifetime of playing and dealing in bows regarding Sartory, dozens of which I have now sold, this type of Sartory is the most rewarding to own and use. I remember recording the Enescu third sonata using both a Sartory and a Dominique Peccatte, to my surprise the most used takes were generally played on the Sartory!

This is a bow to love and cherish, a top rate Sartory on a budget, complete with a certificate from Cabinet D’archetiers, Paris.
