Peter Hembrough bows

View Original

Probably by François Nicolas Voirin. Sold. July northern spain

With its original stamp, as seen below here is probably a Voirin bow! The correct J. B. Vuillaume stamp definately means this bow originates from this workshop. Experts cannot agree on who made it but from a playing point of view it plays exactly as a Voirin does. This is very telling as even fine copies do not achieve this!

Note correct stamp. This bow carries a certificate by Michael J Taylor.

Note the wear on the crown of the head thus making attribution difficult for many.

The original Vuillaume style frog and button are a real delight, the articulation produced by this great stick is exactly what you would imagine from Voirin.
