Emile Francois Ouchard circa 1940

This is one of the finest Emile Ouchard bows I have seen, in as new condition (it came from a private collection, the owner of the collection bought it direct from the maker). The bow was made in 1940, at this time Emile Francois had something to prove since he often quarrelled with his son who in 1937 bought his father's business off him.

Characteristics

There is something seductive about a fine Emile Francois, his emphasis is on fine making from the player's point of view. This bow would suit an instrument that needs a little help with tone production since it sits on the string well and produces a great, full, round sound.

Condition

This bow has never really been played, having stayed in a collection, and it looks brand new. This bow has a certificate from Bernard Millant
