A superb Tourte bow sold in the Vichy December auction for a record-breaking €88,000 despite a large break in the middle of the stick. Can you see where the repair is?
As restoration continues to break new ground, so prices continue to rise for great examples by great makers. Needless to say the Tourte soon to arrive at Peter Hembrough Bows will be a little less expensive as we continue to bring examples of top makers’ output to players of discernment at extremely competitive prices.
Following our summer sale, a big thank-you to the violinists from both the UK and abroad who bought items, I hope the bows give you all many years of loyal service.
