J.J. Millant finds a new home

Well, Peter Hembrough Bows is delighted to announce that the système breveté J.J. Millant has been bought by a high-profile recitalist and regular with one of London’s finest orchestras.

Bought from Michael Rabin’s sister, it was a bow that received many requests to sell from around the world, and is stunning in all respects. In the end though, as a kind of marriage guidance bow dealer, if the bow suits a player to a remarkable extent then you should sell, so off it trots.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those players and dealers who expressed an interest in this bow, I am sorry that at the time I could not sell it. A remarkable maker who died in 1998 Jean-Jacques Millant was a real character.

When people would visit his shop in Paris he would make them a cup of tea or coffee and then proceed to talk almost exclusively about the other passion in his life…..fishing!

Alongside Emile Auguste Ouchard, Jean-Jacques Millant is considered the best maker of the latter part of the last century.
